Eastern Cape police are still trying to find someone to communicate with a mute and deaf murder suspect.

The man allegedly hacked his mother and her four grandchildren to death with an axe.

Police have not been able to converse with the man for over a week now.

“At this stage we do not have someone who can translate what we are saying,” said the police’s Mzukisi Fatyela.

His case has been remanded to December 8 and he is being sent for mental observation.
