Looking at www.cochlear.org
one can find information about numerous shady Cochlear Americas dealings. Scandals such as kickbacks, referral manipulation, monopoly, and many more. Take your time to go through the entire site. This is a poorly organized website yet it highlights the scandals. This site has been around for a long time and with new information networks like RSS, this can be shared with a larger group of people who need to know more about Cochlear Americas.

ReplyDeleteIt is just informative... If you feel there are scandals and kickbacks and etc please provide some evidence before you make accusations and keep in mind there are three if I recall cochlear companies.

Okay I got to read it now.. And these events happened back in the early 2000. First of all, you know Cochlear Americas is not the only company that probably does this. I mean look at all these oil companies who are probably making these politicians rich right now. Point is being this stuff happens everywhere, everyday.

Mike....if the www.cochlear.org site is spouting B.S. why has Cochlear publicly admitted to shareholders that it has been under Department of Justice investigation since at least 2004 for exactly these types of kickbacks and fraudulent practices that are documented on the site? The site has internal memos and e-mails from Cochlear executives, including one from Cochlear's own lawyer directing management to voluntarily turn themselves into Medicare in hopes of lighter punishment. What better documentation can you have? And most damning, if the site is B.S., why have Cochlear's lawyers never been able to get it removed!? Sounds like you have some kind of affiliation with Cochlear to make such a statement.
ReplyDeleteAs the www.cochlear.org states on its Fraud and Abuse webpage,most information relates to Cochlear Americas simply because it is the largest and most dominant manufacturer. The webpage notes that nothing on the site should imply that other cochlear implant manufacturers are not engaging in similar improper practices, and in fact there are examples of such at both Advanced Bionics and Med El Corporation.
