This event is at the Animal Shelter in Orange just across from the Block At Orange.
And finally, we are basically done putting together a very resourceful booth to be at the Orange County Fair this summer. We have the admission and parking tickets for our booth volunteers.
We're also all set for the Cypress festival food stand fundraising.
Our online store has started a sale of it's braille magazine inventory in effort to create additional space for new product that's being developed.

Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center Newsletter - June 12, 2011
Greetings everyone,
Now that our deaf newswire process has been fully established, our readers and
friends can obtain the freshest deaf news every day from two websites.
Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center has Deaf newswires with freshest deaf news
not more than 24 hours old at it's facebook page in the mornings every day
(pacific time) http://www.facebook.com/ocdac
Eye Fire Vlogs has deaf newswires with freshest deaf news not more than 24 hours
old in the evenings every day (pacific time) http://www.eyefirevlogs.com/
This newsletter will carry some of news content thats been previously aired at
the two sites just to fill up the spaces after being filled with available
disability advocacy related content. All spaces in this newsletter has been
filled with advocacy content and is a rich newsletter.
Our booth at the Chili Cookoff was a success with a good fundraise, a good
staffing, and a seamless setup and closing.
Our next event is at the OC Animal Cares Pet Expo at the Animal Shelter. We
will have a full booth there to educate, and solicit donations in the same way
we did at the Pet Expo at the fairgrounds. This event is on June 25 at the
Animal Shelter in Orange just accross from the Block At Orange.
And finally, we are almost done putting together a very resourceful booth to be
at the Orange County Fair this summer and I will need your help in keeping our
ebay store up and running while the fair is on and the best way you can help me
out is a small $700 donation to hire someone to man the ebay store while we're
all at the fairgrounds. Anyone that wants attention through our printed
materials that will be handed out from our booth can inquire for reciprocation
opportunities using the messaging system supplied by this website.

all of us are susceptible to hard times, disabled individuals are at the most

work toward a brighter future with programs in job training, education,
counseling, elderly assistance, and temporary housing.

Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center Newsletter - June 3, 2011
Greetings everyone,
With summer vacationing period rapidly approaching, its imperative that hotels
and motels make themselves accessible to travelers with hearing and speech
disabilities. Failure to do so could result in over $7,000 in settlement costs.
We have put together a $600 kit that would go a long way to helping these hotels
become accessible to travelers with hearing and speech impairments. You can
access this kit at http://ocdac.eCa.sh/adakit and this is the real "ounce of
prevention". Please share this with people you know work or operate hotels and
motels. We only have 8 kits left until the next summer.
We have started a social enterprise experiment
http://www.empireavenue.com/ocdeaf to see how people would respond to a
for-profit version of Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center. Using a social media
website Empire Avenue we are seeing how the public responds to our presence, our
biography, our resources, and external communications. After 4 days the
response is very positive and that Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center is worth
investing in.
This coming sunday we have a foodstand fundraiser at the worlds largest chili
cookoff; http://www.tustinchilicookoff.com/ and we are all ready and excited for
this.

The Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center is a community based organization that
puts people with disabilities first in their advocacy for equal opportunities in
safety, health, and productive living.
The Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center provides services for disabled
individuals and their families in our community who need help in navigating the
social services maze. Every day people go without proper food, shelter, and
essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors including low
wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, or divorce. While
all of us are susceptible to hard times, disabled individuals are at the most
risk. With the generous support of people like you, we are able to help many of
these families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs, but to
work toward a brighter future with programs in job training, education,
counseling, elderly assistance, and temporary housing.
Feel free to forward this email message IN ITS ENTIRETY to anyone and any of
your personal mailing lists so we can get the important messages out far and
wide and encourage them to sign up for our weekly newsletter.
This coming sunday we have a foodstand fundraiser at the worlds largest chili
cookoff; http://www.tustinchilicookoff.com/ and we are all ready and excited for
this.

Matt Hamill providing inspiration for deaf community
Matt Hamill can't hear his corner during a fight. Although he can read lips from

The downside of concentration: It can make you deaf
Believe it or not, it can. The term has recently been coined "inattentional
deafness" by a group of British researchers from University College London. They
have discovered that people can become deaf to perfectly audible sounds when
focusing heavily on a task.

Armless Man Jumps on hotel desk in protest
He is in a fit because he cannot open his hotel room door. The receptionist
refuses to help him, so he jumps up on the counter and rips through like a

Paypal is one super online payment system we all come to know for now. However a
new company called VirtaPay is rising up using the same babysteps as paypal.
They need at least 3 million members before they can open up to the public and
your help is needed. We get $10.00 for each new VirtaPay signup. New signups
will be given $25.00 in startup funds. Now isn't that a win win situation for
you and our organization?
Recently they have developed a merchant system that enables members to buy and
sell digital products. Tis is one big step toward making this a viable payment
system.
