When The Truth Hurts The Deaf, Desperation Takes Over
When I announced that OCDAC's $12,500 sponsorship to SoCal Deaf Disc Golf Tournament that was turned down in response to the video published http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoWvPUo8PmA
The truth must have hurt them bad enough to make them take on a desperate move to try steer people away from the issue by responding with a very inappropriate video published on http://www.deafvideo.tv/watch/4937
This is the very trademark of the old deaf guards.
So with the deaf community, when the truth hurts them, desperation takes over.

Since I don't know much about "old deaf guards", I see that you have been subjected to the cyberbullying. If you continue posting the kind of cyberbulling comments on your v/blogs, it would encourage other people to bully you. If you ignore them, they could go away... you might feel better about it.
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad that your organization offer was declined. Well, there are many fishes in the wide ocean for your organization to sponsor.
The reason they turn you down not because you are not deaf enough, it is because you don't have $12,500.
ReplyDeleteWhy bring this up in December, when its happening last June thats about 6 months now. What are you trying do?
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteThis not cyberbullying.
This is a real exposure of the perverted traditions of the old deaf guards. This has been going on since we opened our doors. Their traditions need to go or at least evolve into something more positive.
And as brutal as it is, this is going to be a lesson for the deaf community to learn from.
I don't believe in forgiving and forgetting and neither does the old deaf guards.

Early this year, at the Deafnation Expo, I showed Mark Corson our accounting summary sheet and told him we had over $19,000.00 to spend in sponsorships this year. I told him we could sponsor some of Dynamingle's events.

I just want to add another comment thanking Tayler Mayer for doing the right thing to remove the inappropriate video from that page.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
ReplyDeleteYou encourage others to bully you and then you play the "victim" card. Not good. If the organization declined your offer to donate, find another organization that needs the money.
Simple as that.
This is how the business run. Never mind the old Deaf guards.
Can you prove to those skeptics that you actually have the moola? Anyone can write/type up a balance sheet, it doesn't prove anything. Perhaps next time you should carry with you an updated bank statement with your account number crossed out. Leave the name alone. Maybe that would convince them that you actually have the money.
ReplyDeleteWe had our finnancials with us plus information from the source of the funds.
ReplyDeleteWe got a handful of benefactor opportunities for next year unfortunately none of them involve ASL. The door is still open to sponsor ASL events.
Boston,
Where does it say in the video or blog that encourages others to bully us? Maybe you need to view the blogs before you come at me like that.
Richard
I am sorry but I think OCDAC needs new leadership. Anyone who really knows how to run a non-profit wouldn't be releasing this type of information to the public. Even if some people are bullying you, you are a professional and should not release information about your organization and how you had a balance sheet and so on. Organizations need firm leaders that know how to focus on the task on hand, not whine about bullies. Just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with our leadership.
ReplyDeleteWe've gone from a shoestring to 6 figures in less than 8 months. People are very happy with our leadership and our fundraising results shows it.
And I'm allowed to make punching bags out of any irresponsible deaf leadership I discover.

WOW! u met at a fancy pizza place and all this stuff still happened? that is a crime against humanity and fancy pizza places. see if you had held the meeting at chuck e cheese, then i could understand...BUT THE PIZZA PLACE WAS FANCY!!!!!! its not right!
ReplyDeletei have a hard time justifying this story with the lack of information that has been provided. you bascially just told the whole story, then just rushed through the ending....maybe its not that ur not deaf enuough. maybe its because you like bukakke parties, and the fact that ocdac is run out of a storage facility. dude if i ever walked into your place, i would think it was a broke down GLAAD office. maybe ocdac would do alot better if the spokesman for the company didnt look like a fat slob when he made very immature vlogs. maybe if you acted more professional maybe thats why? also the old deaf guards are dead. IKJ killed them off when he led gallaudet to their glory years.
ReplyDeleteSee, Ridor really can use his freedom of speech.
ReplyDeleteRichard,
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is this?
Use the $19,000 to start audiology services at your agency. It will make you look very good !
Audiology services at our office is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHowever, we're getting very involved with the new hearing research center at UCI next month.
Richard
ha ha ha ha Richard YOU SUCK !
ReplyDeleteIn fact, Ridor did not comment in your blog. He never ever put a comment in your blog. Someone used his name. careful what you said to point at him. You had no business to say this because you did not know nothing about him.
ReplyDeletehedy,
ReplyDeleteYou bring up an interesting point. You say someone used his name. I guess his community status is as best as a sewer rat that theres all kinds of people so willing to further their displeasure of him by using his name like that.
Richard
Much obliged to you for giving such essential data, and a debt of gratitude is for sharing this issue.
