  1. Richard,

In my opinion, U have insulted ASL and ASL is the natural langauge and our first language. U have no respect. If u feel like that then u don't have to bother making vlogs about ASL. Leave the precious ASL alone. I had see your vlogs. wow what the pathetic u created and they are out of the point. (chuck).

  4. Huh? *scratch my head* You look angry -- in this vlog. I don't think you understand him in his own perspective and even his own upbringing in his true Deaf family! I highly of him! ASL is precious as forever! I agree with the first comment! I learned ASL at 18! I am truly blessed that I learned ASL when I came to Gallaudet!

By the way you aren't doing a good job at the agency where you work. Deaf will turn away from you if you keep talking like this. You are not a very truly Deaf person. Sounds like you are a traitor of the Deaf community and it hurts. Again It hurts when you work with the Deaf/HH at your agency! Think first before you "ASL"!

  7. Richard,OH please what are you talking about that ASL hurts people?

    YOU are very negative!

No way... we all deaf people around the world are too proud to use ASL as our language.

Richard, if you don't like ASL then why are you here VLOGing with your hands in signing ASL.. you are in this wrong vlog.

  8. With only 2 percent of the deaf communities dependent on ASL, ASL is not everything to the deaf community.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxalR_KpATQ says a lot about where we stand on ASL posted exactly 1 month ago and Deafread missed it.

The majority of the deaf people that comes to our office dont even use ASL.

  10. To hell with you! I'm with Carl!

Hearing people who have spoken in english hurt any people, therefore, it does not make any differences.

You judged on people too much. Your'e idiot!

I reckon that you are an angry person.

  11. Aha, reeking fear the power of ASL. I am so sorry that you are angry.

  12. Some prefer ASL. Some prefer ASL in English order. Some prefer SEE. Some prefer Cued. Some prefer paper and pencil Some prefer speech and lipreading. That is fine. It is their right to use their preferred communication.

Don't bash or ostracize (shun) deaf people because they prefer this or that communication mode.

If we accept them that way, then the deafhood will work!

  13. Good morning everyone. Honestly, vlogs like this are long overdue and there's more vlogs on the way that will paint a bad picture of ASL.

Heres another vlog that was also missed by deafread.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqLoAspQags

The only people blowing the horn on this vlog are only the ASL dependents and their sympathizers just a tiny fraction of the deaf community.

  17. Richard,

    Your comment is very strange!
You said you've seen ASL hurt deaf people. HUH?? So what is your point? ASL hurt deaf people. ASL hurt Deaf people ASL hurt other deaf people. That's all you said and your argument is invalid!

  20. ASL hurts Deaf People????????? Nah.. I dont see anything about this.. but One thing I know is.. Oral DID and Always DO HURT our Deaf people! I am telling you why there are several things.. 1) BELT that oral deaf people already had experienced. 2) Oral method hurts us for a lot of misunderstanding what the hearing people said.. 3) Feel hurt if any oral people feel lost in somewhere in the hearing world.

You can see why many former oral people decided to use ASL for their better self esteem. So ASL is a beautiful and harmless language!

  21. I don't understand your ASL. You signed wildly. I don't understand your wild ASLish style. Can you re-vlog and sign in SEE. I use SEE all the time. Thank you.

  22. You did not post the comments I made earlier this afternoon... apparently you are seeking some comments that would "flame" you and making you a "victim"

I thought I gave you some feedback that you could BENEFIT from. I chose to remain anonymous due to the fact that you appear to be unstable and "flaming" other vloggers and bloggers.

This doesn't look good on your part. Let me tell you why:

    1. you represent an agency that you own. Your agency focus on the service to Deaf community. If you treat other people based on your emotions (not facts) this hurt your "agency" and your "credibility"

    2. it is OK to disagree with other people. Do it the right way. Gather facts and present them in appropriate manner. Name calling and insulting others does not help. Even with your angry affect on your face, this doesn't help neither.

If you have some issues that might provoke you personally, I suggest you to go see a professional. Find someone who can help you talk it out. It helps, truly. Trust me.

I hope you take this into consideration.

  23. On what basis do you claim that ASL indeed hurt deaf people, I see no assertion on this part. Where are the evidences that ASL does hurt deaf people? So your argument is not credible enough to convince us as readers!

Have you look at the mirror lately? You are hurting yourself with your ability to sign ASL!

  24. My response to the above post is that by looking at a piece of the puzzle, you cant see the whole picture.

If you think I hurt my ASL with my SEE signs, then thats not my issue to deal with.

  25. Richard, I can see your anger and your comment was being irrational. You just made no sense that ASL was the problem. You need to calm yourself first and analyze your thought. Suggest that you need to focus on your relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has a better solution for you if you are willing to establish your relationship with Jesus Christ. Please be careful of how you sow, you will eventually reap. Good Luck.

  27. At your OC Deaf agency, I think you are seeing many different deaf people using different kinds of sign language.

You have noticed that ASL users are ignoring those who use different communication modes other than ASL. At my deaf agency, I noticed the same thing.

We are all deaf. We all use different ways: lipreading/ speech, SEE, and a few other systems. It is their right to use whatever they want. Do not hurt deaf people who do not use ASL.

Most hearing people do not know sign language so I am happy to be able to communicate orally with them... I can use SEE to communicate with SEE users. I can use ASL with ASL users. I have high self esteem in both worlds. I feel good about that.

  29. About Jesus ... if Jesus loves the Deaf, why did he change a Deaf man into a Hearing man? (Bible verse Mark 7:31-35)
