BDA Welcomes BT’s Trial Service, but with Caution!

BT and social business, SignVideo, have launched a 6-month trial that enables people who are deaf to communicate with BT’s customer service teams using British Sign Language (BSL) via video relay.

David Buxton (Deaf), BDA Chief Executive Officer, said: “The service will allow our Deaf members to contact BT independently and confidentially, rather than being reliant on family members, including their hearing children, friends and even neighbours to make phone calls on their behalf.
