Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 22nd, 2016

Friday, January 22, 2016, 2045 Hrs., 44 degrees, mostly cloudy.

Happy Friday everyone!

I woke up bit late, must have overslept for some reason.

I have not fired up the generator at all today to save the gas. I only fired up the generator last night to charge up some battery for about an hour that solar battery is so small and won’t charge too well one at night time since no sunlight. Once all the battery fully charge up, I shut it down. Maybe we need a larger battery that may help, I am not for sure about that yet. My idea is that there’s another inverter in Beth’s “Green Bag” that she rarely use it anymore and I will ask her to bring that inverter so I can use that for Astro van to charge something up with it.

I have 2 power packs here with me, one of them is dead, that’s the one we used it at the storage as I tried air up the trailer tire that got badly smoke came out of it. Another one is in good shape and does charge up the cell and laptop battery good. I am going to ask Beth to bring her power pack with her next time when she come visiting me so we can trade it, so she can take another home with her to charge it up. It’s does take at least 24 hours to fully charge up. I can’t have generator runs it 24 straight hours to charge it.

Anyway I finally managed to clean up small area including did some dishes before I make some video. I finally made 3 videos today, one at a time. I charge my cell battery with silver inverter which it have USB port to plug it in. 1 hour at a time. During the battery being charged up, I upload the video to my drive. During that time, I kept myself busy to clean up the floors again and reorganized my room. I also pulled out another eBay order from the trailer and will pack it, label it and take it to the post office tomorrow.

I finally managed to upload all 3 videos to my Google Drive and do not know why I am showing 3 same videos in the drive each and I shared with them with Beth.

After I wrapped up for the video, I cooked myself a small dinner with Solo-Stove, (yes, I only eat 1 meal a day) and started a campfire for a peaceful Friday Night Live campfire warmth! Here’s the video I made:

Anyways, on my last blog as I mentioned about Beth created new link and here is the link at:

https://www.crowdrise.com/beginningofyearfundraiserhelpushatchsomechickens/fundraiser/ocdac

Please, do take a minute or two to visit this link and help us to raise funds so we can get materials for the chickens in our ranch project. Please help us by donating $10 or more.

Also Beth made a video that was deleted by YouTube and Beth filed appeals about us and surprising to us the video was restored. Please see her video at: https://youtu.be/JsskUcxejDY today and you can click donate there.

Well, that’s about it. Tomorrow it should be raining and windy, so I don’t know for sure, but I will take the eBay order to the post office when the rain not too bad and do one quick errand and come back here and try to finish off the videos again.

Have a great weekend folks!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 21st, 2016

Thursday, January 21, 2016, 1840 Hrs., 50 degrees, cloudy.

Good evening once again!

Yesterday, Wednesday, I couldn’t do any blogging because I didn't know what happened to my Tuesday blog until it finally showed up this morning.

Anyways, yesterday I finally managed to clean the exterior wall of our trailer before it started to turn cloudy and the wind started again, Grrr! I also removed two broken mini blinds, one above the sofa and another from my bedroom and tossed it out and tried to installing the two wooden blinds that Beth got for me and but it didn’t work it out so I pouted about it and put them back in the trailer and re-cleaned the floor again!

Today, we got a new eBay order last night, I managed to pull it out from the trailer, fired up the generator to get the printer working to make the shipping label print out and shut it down.

I finally could go to town to drop off an eBay order and save my time and to do laundry and filled up one of our 5 gallon bottles of fresh water. It cost $1.50, I think it’s too much for that vending machine instead of using the one at Wal-Mart. The Laundromat and water vending machine is just about 4 blocks away from post office. It saves gas and time to do all 3 in one trip. Pretty smart! Yes, laundry here is quite high, compared in Orange County is $1.50 and here is $2.75 for the front loader, $1.00 for the top loader in OC and $2.50 here!

When I came back, as I was putting away clean white towels, Beth texted me stating the video she made was deleted from YouTube, how stupid! I told her to file appeal to explain who we are.

Beth is going to use the videos in our Google drive instead, good idea!

As I was trying to clean up myself by shaving with hot solo-stove and change my clothes to look nice for the video filming. At 4:00 pm As I started to do it with my smartphone, it’s got too dark to film videos. Oh drat! I will try again tomorrow.

Beth also texted me about begining of the year fundraising with a link. I told her please to email me the link instead so I can spread the word around, please do keep your eyes open on my next blog as she stated she will post it everywhere. She needs to also post that in Craigslist as well.

Beth and OCDAC needs your help to bring up funding for the Youth Expo which it will be on Spring 2016 in Costa mesa. Please do help us by visiting our website at www.deafadvocacy.org or email Beth at [email protected] or by calling her at 714 699-3323. Beth also needs some volunteers to help her at the expos which are coming up soon. Also I would like to have Beth get a volunteer for grant writing.

Beth is currently working on the Volunteers Application online, so we will update on that soon.

Anyway, on my Tuesday blog that I mentioned about the square plastic container instead of Circle, I think I made mistake of using “square”, but I think it should be rectangular plastic container to cover the battery and 2 inverters to protect them from the rain. Color is no matter to me, but it’s needs to be good quality that can bear the weights of 2 or 3 bricks that would hold down during strong winds.

Well, that’s about it for the day and it’s getting cold now here and want to climb on my bed to stay warm as much as I can and watch Hulu movies.

G’night folks!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 19th, 2016

Tuesday, January 19, 2016, 1915 Hrs. 50 degrees, partly cloudy and light wind.

Good evening!

This morning I woke up bit chilly and mostly cloudy at 44 degree. Yikes still!

About 10 this morning Beth texted me while I am taking a home bath, I responded to her after I got dressed. We started talking about hooking up the 2nd (red) inverter to get it connected to the solar panel battery.

So much confusion going on messaging to each other back and forth, I found so much she mentioned not really working to get it connected. And she was very slow to respond to my texts and hundreds of photos. I finally got the picture of what she was talking about by mentioning about using the straight wires without eyelets by using bolts, washers and nuts on the battery. Nuts!

After switching the silver inverter with the new cables, no power at all! I switched it back and got full good power, she again try to have me to disconnect the cable from solars and re-try it again, once again, it failed. I heard a thunder rumbling and it started to rain at that time. I knew it was gonna rain today! Hmmm, I told her that the “new” cable that she wanted to me to use instead of the clamps is thinner than the original clamp cable. So she told me to go ahead and use my ideas, so I again switched it around back the old way and use clamps on the red inverter and finally both of the inverters work. And then I tested the red inverter with the extension cord going into the RV with my cell charger and laptops plugged in and it’s works!

I opened the “living room” window to let the 2nd extension cords in and shut the window and taped it around and I took photos shown with red bucket as shown in this picture below:

I then covered that red bucket and put a brick on it and find I needed a square bucket to cover the whole thing instead of a round bucket. Shortly after that more rain came pouring down. I stayed inside for the duration of the good rain.

Now I got mad that an hour after the rain pouring down from the sky, the front unit start to leak AGAIN!! GRRR!! After I put 2 coats of cement around the unit and it still leaks, that’s really upsetting me. So after the rain stopped, I went up to the roof again to squeeze the standing water out of the roof to slow down the leaks. Rain down poured from southwest that may have caused it to enter the front unit vent holes. I still need to do something about that with aluminum tape, therefore I need to ask anyone who can donate a roll it would help! Please call Beth at 714 699-3323 with how you can help.

I also found that the printer and coffee maker don’t work on the solar power, but I will now cut down the generator running and only will run it when I need coffee and printing shipping labels from eBay Store. Yes, Coffee maker is not always coffee, but hot water for my shaving and bath when it’s windy and raining.

At about 5:15 pm today, instead of using generator, I had a hard time to get solo-stove to fired up so I could have hot beef stew (No, my body don’t like eating cold food on cold days!). Normally I can get solo-stove fired up and ready-to-eat within 10 minutes, but this time, due to wetness and wind, I finally got my meal cooked and ready-to-eat in about an hour! I had to light it up 12 times to get a fire going with lots of cotton balls! Yikes, 11 matches wasted!

For tomorrow, I need to clear up wet mud again and see if I can get our “yard” clean up and look for more woods around. It supposed to be a clearer day tomorrow with light wind, I just hope!

I am calling it for the night!

Later!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 18th, 2016

Monday, January 18, 2016, 2015 Hrs. 43 degree, windy and cloudy.

Good day friends,

There nothing much going on today because of wind and periodic cloudy and slight rain right now.

I all I did is clean up after the wind inside the RV and tries not use the generator while I was working on our eBay Store most of the day by using the battery on this Chrome and cell.

Beth mention this Chrome battery should last 4 hours, but really it really last 2 ½ hours. Duh!

After I notices battery getting real low, I shutdown the computer and finished cleaning up here while RV was shaking a bit! I took over 2 hours of afternoon nap.

Woke up about 3:30 pm and had no choice to refuel the generator which I now have less than 3 gallon of gas left. Fired it up to charge up the batteries and cook me a small meal with crockpot.

I shutdown the generator after 2 hours of charging and play my Facebook with the battery again and will shut it down after I finish this blog.

Just hopefully Beth would be here this coming weekend so we can work on the solar panel with both inverter hooks up at the same time and get some gas and water refilled.

Tomorrow, I am not for sure what to do because weather said it should be cloudy and rain periodically, so I need to wait and see what will happen.

Have a great evening!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 15th, 2016

Friday, January 15th, 2016, 2030 Hrs, 44 degrees, windy with chill factor (Feels like 38!).

Good evening!

Today is a very yucky day!

We had a wind storm most of the day, dust and debris flying everywhere from the Southwest and it’s really cold during the day time and chill factor just before dark. This morning after I woke up, I had to take the solar panel down for a while so which it’s means I have no power on both sides for the most of the day.

If the weather is good by the time tomorrow morning, I will reset the solar panel again!

Here’s the video I took about 10 am:

Wind storm cloud with dust floating facing Southeast area.

I couldn’t do any that much today but feeling RV rocking, watching dust flying through my windows, covers wind drafts on the bottom of the front door with a towels and I could hear a little bit of whistling in here and I couldn’t find it where it comes from, but I can imagine it is coming from the main door as I could feel cold air coming in from this door.

I cleaned up a bit at about 11 this morning on the floors and desk top and had to clean it up again at around 2 pm. Lots of dirts! I hates this part, clean twice in one day!

At about 4:45 pm, wind dies down for a while, but still gusty, I fired up the generator to charge up my battery on my cell phones and laptop which it was nearly dead and finally shut it down after all battery fully charged up! Again the wind started to pick up at about 6:30 pm.

Hopefully I can catch up tomorrow to get things done and take some eBay orders to the HQ Post Office!

Hope you all have a great weekend and stay safe!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 14th, 2016

Thursday, January 14, 2016, 1745 Hrs., 51 degree - strong wind. Yuck!

Good evening again!

Today is not to good because it’s windy again, dust still flying around. I still have to do clean up inside our RV after the wind’s dust. There’s still wind drafts going on around here. I know our main door still needs weather strips around it and I’m still sticking towel at the bottom of door frame which has a big draft!

I managed to pull out our eBay order and take it to the post office and finally managed to do laundry today! I haven’t done any laundry since 3 days before I left Santa Ana. I still got some laundry to do, this time, white towels that I had for cleaning. Hopefully tomorrow!

After I came back from laundry and post office, for some reason, my stomach got a bit upset for a short time. I do not know why.

We got 2 more items sold from our eBay Store today, this time it is International shipping.

I did charge up my cell phone with Solar Panel inverter with USB and I find it that it takes bit longer than it should. I really didn’t want to disconnect Solar charging clip to put another inverter so I can charge up my laptops today, since it’s windy and didn’t want dirt get on the laptop. I would love to have both inverter hooks up at the same time so my laptop can charge up while Solar Panel charging the battery.

Beth did texted me this morning and wants me to remind her to bring more some sort of electrical items. Last time she were here, she also said she going to bring something for her cat, Mike. She needs either bring or bring cash since I have been taking care of her cat since Kirsten left as she gave up her cat to Beth. So since late Spring 2015 I have spend money for Mike.

Since it’s windy, I had no choice but to fire up generator to fix me a nice hot dinner with crockpot instead using Solo-Stove.

For tomorrow, I will pull out 2 eBay orders and take to the post office, do laundry and hopefully do paint if it is no wind at all!

Have a good night!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 13th, 2016

Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 1915 Hrs., 48 degree with gusty wind and chill factor, BRRR.

Good evening readers!

Today it was windy all day and slightly gusty. It’s a bad way to paint the trailer with flying dirt all around and tumbleweeds rolling around our property.

Tomorrow I heard it’s going to be over $1 billion lotto, who going to play and help donate some to us?

I didn’t do much today, but I managed to clean the floor for the millionth of time. I’m still tracking some dirt when I enter our RV. Still need pallet and plywood with fake hard grass doormat that would help a lot.

I took a long afternoon nap while it still windy and still feel RV rocking like a small earthquake.

My idea is after we get donated 2 or 3 days backhoe with grader in the back rental, level our property and make temporary road, I will move the RV up north for a bit (about 5 yards) and hopefully someone can donate 4 or 6 stabilizer jack so I can stabilized the RV so I won’t feel so shaky RV during windy days.

I know I made Blog from yesterday and don’t know why it’s not posted yet. I apologize about that. If my both Blog (Tuesday and Wednesday) don’t show up in our Blog site in the morning then I will deal with it the HARD way. [Editor's note: I had a lot of problems yesterday. Sorry. I am staying up later tonight to get everything fixed up.]

I am really low on fuel and try to manage to work on solar panel battery to work on this, really the solar panel won’t work all night with my heating pad to keep me warm overnight while I sleep. These flower pottery never worked with the candles as it shown in Youtube.

For tomorrow, I will pull out our eBay order and take to the post office and do a quick laundry which it is about 6 blocks between Post Office and laundrymat and come back here and try to get painting started, depending on weather.

Just a reminder that our eBay Store still still on sale and only 2 weeks left, please visit our eBay Store at http://www.tinyurl.com/ocdac today!

Also please visit our Amazon Wishlist at: http://www.tinyurl.com/ocdac-wishlist today!

That’s all folks!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 12th, 2016

Tuesday, January 12, 2016, 1900 Hrs, 45 degrees - Fair sky.

Hello again!

Sorry for not making a blog for Monday, I was too worn out after a lot of hard work and had to eat and go to bed early.

On Saturday, I looked on the weather website and it was not showing any rain, however, at about 2:00 PM as I was cleaning our trailer exterior body to prepare to paint it, the light rain came and it didn’t stop until close to dark! How nuts!

I didn’t do much on Sunday since it was my day off, mostly relaxing and watching the campfire most of the late afternoon.

Yesterday (Monday), I managed to finish off the seal with roofing cement on the roof of our RV and after a long week of “wet weather and wet ground” I re-installed the Solar Panel and let the battery charge up for the day. I also managed even up the ground after mud was dried up which took me a while to do. I also removed all old wood out of the RV’s storage compartments. I piled it up far behind the RV. I don’t know what to do with it. I can’t burn it in the campfire pit because it’s laminated on one or two sides of the wood. Maybe if I can move it away from here on our land and burn it, but I don’t know yet. I also moved 4 of our Solar Lights that we got from 99 Cents Store to the roof area and tied them down with a twist tie. That way when Beth comes here to visit me like she did last time at night, she can see some lights. Also Beth told me that we got accepted to “Rent-The-Chicken”, now we need to ask for donation or raise fund to get the materials so I can built the “main coop” and smaller coops. You can call beth at 714 699-3323 and see what you can do to help us.

Also I pulled out another solar panel from the Astro van and tried to hook it up to the RV battery, but it only comes with a plug into cigarette lighter port and our RV does not have a cigarette lighter port since it was removed by the previous owner, darn! I thought it would be clip on the battery.  :(    [Editor's note: Beth knows how to fix it!]

This morning when I woke up, it was very cold and a “frost zone”! Geez, I had hard time getting out of my bed because it was so cold! After I managed to get out of bed, went outside and noticed everything is icey! On the ground, on windshield and windows on both of vehicles and RV windshield. Yikes!

I refueled the generator so I can fired it up to charge my battery and brew some coffee. Which reminds me I am running low of coffee grounds.

Any help would be appreciated, we need items that are listed on the Amazon Wishlist at: http://tinyurl.com/ocdac-wishlist PLEASE do help and support us today! We need lots of materials.

After I got my phone battery charged up and finished with my coffee, I turned off the generator to save gas which I am getting low on gas, I would say about 4 days worth of gas left! Your cash donation for the fuel cost is appreciated by calling Beth at the number shown above or you can donate on our website.

Anyway, after the weather started to warm up in 50 degrees I went up to check out the roofing cements and did some 2nd coats of patches around, now I only have ¼ a can left. I also managed to store our equipment in the RV’s storage compartment including a ladder, shovels, a chain, etc and it has all been locked up. I also finally had the door window replaced today. After first 3 screws were drilled in my hand drill tool battery went dead so I had to fire up the generator to charge the battery for an hour. In the meantime, while I was waiting battery charge up, I tried to figure out how to get the solar powered light into my kitchen window to hook it up.

So, it didn’t reach too well, so I had to slowly move the solar panels down about 3 feet and a foot over to be closer to the RV. Now I can get the line to reach into the kitchen!

Here’s the light that is powered by Solar Battery after dark

I also can’t figure out how to put the power convertor on the battery while another power control box is already clipped on the battery.

After 1 hour of charging the drill battery, light is still red instead of green, so I turn off the generator and finally finish off the screws on the door window. I then seal the edge of the plastic window with silicone inside and outside and did finish off seal around the door frame. I need to do 2nd run to seal inside door window after the first seal dries up to prevent air draft blowing inside when it’s windy.

It became dark so I gathered up all my equipment and locked them up for the night and fired up both vehicles to charge up the battery for 15 minutes while I prepared dinner with the solo-stove and it cooked pretty fast! After I ate, I shut down our vehicles for the night.

Well, that’s about it, tomorrow I plan on to take a quick bath then finish off working on our trailer to paint it.

Good night folks!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 8th, 2016

Friday, January 8, 2016, 1900 Hrs, 41 degrees, fair.

Today was a bit busy for me. Today the weather is clear with a fair sky and the high is in the low 50’s, no wind at all. How wonderful!

I managed to remove the standing water on the ground to get mud to dry up faster so I can work outside better when it fully dries up. Finally, the front of the unit has stopped dripping! Hopefully I can finish up sealing around the roof tomorrow, but I still need an roll of aluminum tape as I mentioned a few days ago. I will also try to seal up around the exterior window edges with silicone.

I also cleaned up the mess here in my RV and removed most of the dry mud on my doorstep. I still need 3 pallets, a small sheet of plywood and a fake hard grass doormat that would prevent tracking in more mud when I enter my RV.

I took a nap for a couple of hours today and to find out when I woke up that we sold 2 more items from our eBay Store. I went into our trailer and pulled them out and it was easy for me to find them, wrapped them and labeled them and will take them to P.O. tomorrow because eBay only allowed me to mark tomorrow as the shipping day.

After that, I spent another 2 hours fixing up errors in our eBay Store, during that time I noticed that HotSpot wasn’t running fast as it should be, there was no warning about running out of limited space. I will check tomorrow to see if it is back to normal speed.

That’s about it for the weekend. Hope you all have a great weekend and stay warm!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 7th, 2016

Thursday, January 7, 2016, 1900 Hrs, 41 degrees, cloudy, light wind.

Good evening!

Pretty weird today! This morning I woke up with calm weather, partly cloudy and the temperature still sticking to the upper 40’s all day.

Some of the ground was almost dried up and some area have mud and standing water. After I was fully woke up, I went on the roof to check out where the leaks is at, I had to squeeze standing water off the roof so, and it’s still to damp to for a coating of roofing cement tar, so I rather wait a bit longer.
After I sweep off the standing water on the roof, I notice that front unit as slowing down the drippings.

I finally can get into our trailer to pull out 2 eBay order and get ready to ship it out. When I was halfway to the post office, Beth texted me that she want me to removed the plate from Astro van and ship it to her ASAP. I had to “About Face” back to our land. I yank 2 plates off of the van and wrapped it into brown craft paper, and labeled it along with a USPS tracking # label.

I went to the nearest Post Office on Lancaster Blvd, but the clerk refused accept it. Sounds like she was hired without any training! So I had to go to another Post Office which is 5 miles further southwest, it appears to be HQ Post Office of Lancaster. This time, that clerk is very nice and understanding what “Free Matter for the Blind” means and she accept it, scanned it for me and it’s on the way. How nice!

Anyway, this morning I checked out weather website and it said it should be light rain starting at 5 pm, but it never came, how odd! Just a few minutes ago, I check it again, no rain for a while, tonight will be in the lower 30’s and partly cloudy, tomorrow in the 50’s. The 30’s is no good but the 50’s is okay to me.

I came back safe and sound. Took care of the Astro van as I told Beth I will add 1 more gallon of gas into it.  I put 1 ½ gallons of gas in it, but gas meter won’t change, nuts! At 3:30 pm had a quick dinner and hot coffee with 1 hour break, then off to work on eBay.

Finally! I finally caught up on getting all the braille magazine into new listing in eBay! YAY!!!

Well, ok, that’s it folks!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 6th, 2016

Wednesday, January 6, 2016, 1800 Hrs. 44 degree, strong winds!

Hello again!

Today is not such a good day for me, too much wind and heavy rain off and on all day today and it's still darkened around here. This morning when I woke up, I felt the RV shaking and I thought it was wind and later on I learned that it was an earthquake!

I didn’t do anything too well today because of the lousy weather. Right now at this time, it is still windy as I can feel the RV rocking. I really want to work on our trailer and some of the details outside, but I felt it’s not safe for me to do some of the work.

As per a weather website, there will be more rain tomorrow morning that should end that afternoon and it will resume again on Saturday morning!

I did fire up both cars this early afternoon while the rain stopped falling from the sky for a short time.

I also have notice some more rain leaks around, 1 in kitchen and 1 in my bedroom which it is minor issues and the leaks on front unit are dripping bit faster than it was yesterday. I still need a roll of Aluminum tape so I can fix this. As soon rain stops, properly on Friday to fix the leaks in those 2 location and try to fix front unit.

I also fixed some errors in our eBay store for a short time. Beth had given me approval for “Moving Sale” which I already set up and it will start tonight at midnight and ends on February 7, 2016 at midnight, so that’s a good 30 days sale! You can visit our eBay at: www.tinyurl.com/ocdac

Please, once again, visit our Amazon website wishlist at: http://tinyurl.com/ocdac-wishlist
We need your support!

That’s about it for today!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 5th, 2016

Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 1830 Hrs.

Hello viewers!

Well, this morning, I woke up at 7:15 am with murky weather at 36 degrees with back pain and it seems it rained lightly last night, as it was cloudy and very moist outside.

As I was warming myself while my coffee was brewing with the generator on, I went to fire up both cars to charge up the batteries and found the mud to be quite slippery.

I have updated some of our eBay items on the shipping details and fixed some errors. I finally caught up with listing the new Braille Magazines today in eBay which I haven’t done for the past 2 ½ weeks. I still have to add more magazines! Yes, I am a bit behind and trying to catch up on everything! I am still awaiting Beth’s approval to have a “Moving Sale” at 10% off on everything in our eBay Store for 30 days to see if it helps to raise funds.

Rain came in at 10:30 am causing this place to darken and it is hard for me to do video work as I was planning. No, I can’t use lights over the generator because I need to save gas. Leaks still going on at the front unit, but this time is a minor, like an IV drips slowly. I had to put pot under the drip and drilled small holes to let it flow out. I am gonna need a roll of Aluminum Tape (like the A/C Technician use) so I can cover the vents opening and put some more roofing cement over the top of it which is already covered by plywood by previous owner.

Just learned we have sold 1 item in Ebay, but I can’t pull this out yet as the ground is still muddy. I went outside to get some water and found the mud here is very slick like you walk on ice in an ice skating rink with your tennis shoes on. I had to dance to keep from falling. (Roll eyeballs)

During the dark day, I had fixed up the pottery that Beth bought and put it together, fired up with 4 tea candles and let it burn until it ended, but it never warmed up in here, grrr, what a waste of candles! I think Beth got the 2nd pot that won’t fit in right, I guess. It has been in the 40’s all day.  I took almost 2 hours of nap today to help me feel more relaxed over my back pain.

The wind is picking up on me now by shaking the RV good! Now I am worried about getting toppled over!

Anyone, PLEASE help us, we need lots of donated materials for this ranch project, we also need a truckload of firewood, materials for a storage shed ( at least 20’ X 20’). You can either:

  1. Visit our Amazon Wishlist at: http://tinyurl.com/ocdac-wishlist
  2. Send check or Money order to OCDAC, 2255 W. Ball Rd., #2430, Anaheim, CA 92814 to help us purchase items we need.
  3. Contact Beth at 714 699-3323 and ask what you can do to help us
  4. Or email me at [email protected] with any questions.

If you or your company supports us, your name will appear on our RRMR website at:

Tomorrow I will try to pull out 1 eBay order, make a video or two, find a way to wash my clothes and finish off work on the eBay Store, all that depending on the weather and the muddy issues.

Good night folks, I better shut everything down for the night due to high winds!

Richard Roehm Memorial Ranch Blog for January 4th, 2016

Monday, January 4th, 2016, 1940 Hrs.

Hello you all and Happy New Year!~

This is my first time to use this blog about RRMR at our temporary land near Lancaster, California. I will be starting to use the blog daily except Sunday and depending on the weather here.

As you are now aware, we have moved our eBay store from Orange County to here near Lancaster. After the Christmas holiday weekend, we moved from there to here. Horrible day, AAA refused to take the trailer from Orange County to here, however, they did accept to take our soon-to-be non-op Astro van to the land. Beth had to rent a truck to tow our trailer to the land. The trailer came loose as she was towing it so I had to meet her to help put the trailer back on and continue towing the trailer to the land as she had to go back to O.C.

On the next morning after I brushed my teeth, a county sheriff deputy came in and knocked on my RV windshield trying to get my attention. Silly!

I came out and spoke with the deputy, who wanted to check us out. I told him that I am deaf and he understood. What a nice guy! I showed him our paperwork with the lease as well our property map. He checked our license plates on both RV and Astrovan and checked my ID and he said we are good to go. WHEW!

Yesterday, we had to move our RV again by towing it with the Astrovan to the spot I wanted, Beth did a fine job by steering the RV which is hard to steer without the motor running. After that she helped set up the solar panel then she had to go back to O.C. when it became dark.

This morning I woke up with a small water leak as it had rained lightly overnight. I found on the roof that there was standing water near the front of the unit, I had to clear that out and clean up a small mess.

I spent an hour and half working on the roof by removing the old roofing seal and replacing it with a new seal where the leaks were and the front end of the rim that was in bad shape. Then I patched up the remaining bits of bad seal all around. It took a ½ gallon of the seal that we bought yesterday. This is really weird because the weather website it said it should be raining on Tuesday, but why is it one day early?

Today is the first day back to work on our eBay store after 1 week of “Vacation Mode”. As you see in the picture below I had to pull out 3 orders from the trailer and put everything back in, wow! It took me an hour!

After I took care of the eBay orders, I went back on the roof to make sure that it’s good. As I was climbing up the ladder on the back of the RV, it didn’t want to hold my weight so I had to use the fiberglass ladder to get up “there”!

For tomorrow’s work, I will try to work on videos and painting if it is not raining.

That’s about it!
