Our education booth at the Pet Expo last weekend was a complete success. We shared valuable information to people with disabilities. We raised a record breaking about of money through donations. We received a lot of food and items donations to people and their service animals in our residency program.
I had to go through a painful dental procedure this week and I'm glad that I'm done with this and the nagging toothache is gone forever. I looked like crap.
I'm doing well now.
What is next for us is the local community fairs and we will maintain our brandand presence at these events.

The Alabama House of Representatives tonight voted 61-34 for a bill to take $30 million from a fund created to pay for telephone services for the deaf and put the money in the state Education Trust Fund.

LOCAL CHARITY, ORANGE COUNTY DEAF ADVOCACY CENTER, NEEDS AREA SUPPORT IN EFFORT
TO WIN $500,000 FROM CHASE
COMMUNITY GIVING
Area residents can make a huge impact by voting through the Chase Community
Giving program
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA – Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center , a non-profit
working to make life better for people with disabilities is competing with
charities nationwide for donations ranging from $20,000 to $500,000 through the
Chase Community Giving program.
Residents can help in the effort to ensure their favorite charity's success by
simply voting for Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center
through the Chase Community Giving program running on the Facebook platform.
Through the utilization of the social media networks, the Chase Community Giving
program has already directed more
than $10 million dollars toward charities nationwide, putting the power to
bring positive change across the nation into
the hands of some of those who need it most. Due to enthusiasm, the program is
being continued into this spring -
giving 200 additional charities, including Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center
the opportunity to win grants to further their mission.
"Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center is constantly striving to strengthen our
community by helping people with disabilities get the access to all aspects of
our society. Receiving even $20,000 would be an unbelievable
opportunity to ensure the great work of this organization continues in the
Southern California area," said Deaf Blind Services Director, Beth Koenig.
The spring 2011 round of the Chase Community Giving program is designed to
benefit 501c3 charities with operating
expenses between $1 and $10 million. During Round 1, the Top 100 eligible
charities with the most votes receive
$25,000. During Round 2, the eligible charity with the most votes receives
$500,000 and the remaining 24 top charities
earn amounts ranging from $20,000 through $400,000. More than $5 million
dollars will be distributed to top vote
getters. Charities previously awarded grants through Chase Community Giving are
not eligible for the spring 2011
program.
Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center is competing with thousands of charities
across the country for awards from Chase. With the
support of our volunteers, fans and local residents, Orange County Deaf
Advocacy Center has the opportunity to get much needed
resources to implement big changes.
"Without Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center's help, my family and I would have
never found an accessible place to live after they closed the hotel," said Maria
Banuelos.

Our education booth at the Pet Expo last weekend was a complete success. We
shared valuable information to people with disabilities. We raised a record
breaking about of money through donations. We received a lot of food and items
donations to people and their service animals in our residency program.
I had to go through a painful dental procedure this week and I'm glad that I'm
done with this and the nagging toothache is gone forever. I looked like crap.
I'm doing well now.
What is next for us is the local community fairs and we will maintain our brand

Orange County Deaf Advocacy Center Newsletter - April 16, 2011
Greetings everyone,
The deaf community in general is struggling with labels. Labels have been an
lingering issue for decades however with the advent of video blogging technology
the issue is now producing explosive dialogue and is producing shocking effects
on the social implications. Labels in the deaf community refers as to the famed
"deaf enough" scale. If you're deaf, "How deaf are you?" or are you "Deaf or
not deaf enough to be a deaf leader" and so on. The discussions have been
reflecting on how the deaf community co-exists with diversity within and this
refers greatly to communication modalities. The sign language minority
traditionally has been highly resistant to accepting members that use oral or
cued methods. It goes all the way to a deaf extremist leader pointing out that
oral and cued methods are not part of diversity within the deaf community but
parts of diversions that causes divisions within the deaf community. The debate
of labels rages on and with the use of video blogging technology, the intensity
of the debate becomes stronger as we notice.
Our pet expo booth has broken it's first day fundraising record yesterday as
we've taken on a new strategy of informing parents of newborn babies of the
communication options available. People liked what we were doing and they
responded with donations. Given its a pets expo, a lot of deaf and disabled
people came. The new strategy is associated with AB 2072 information and can be

Greetings everyone,
The deaf community in general is struggling with labels. Labels have been an lingering issue for decades however with the advent of video blogging technology the issue is now producing explosive dialogue and is producing shocking effects on the social implications. Labels in the deaf community refers as to the famed "deaf enough" scale. If you're deaf, "How deaf are you?" or are you "Deaf or not deaf enough to be a deaf leader" and so on. The discussions have been reflecting on how the deaf community co-exists with diversity within and this refers greatly to communication modalities. The sign language minority traditionally has been highly resistant to accepting members that use oral or cued methods. It goes all the way to a deaf extremist leader pointing out that oral and cued methods are not part of diversity within the deaf community but parts of diversions that causes divisions within the deaf community. The debate of labels rages on and with the use of video blogging technology, the intensity of the debate becomes stronger as we notice.
Our pet expo booth has broken it's first day fundraising record yesterday as we've taken on a new strategy of informing parents of newborn babies of the communication options available. People liked what we were doing and they responded with donations. Given its a pets expo, a lot of deaf and disabled people came. Indiana Baseball Preview
This is Troy Truelove, a head coach for Indiana baseball and Shannon Smith is an assistant coach as well. I have a many very young team with some veterans coming back from last year squad (Kyle Bingham, Trevor Stonebaker, Travis Collette, Tony Long and Dylan Osbourne) showing some experience in high school level. The newcomers are Duke Smith, Kenny Long, Austin Phillips, Andrew Brown, Mitch Davis and Mitchell Slagle.
